I really like this radar. The light is less noticable in the dark. It get a very long range. And it dose cut back on false alamars, which I really fell in love with.

Will NOT Honor Warranty Claims from Amazon.com
My Radar detector was purchased January 2010. One month later the detector stopped working and would not turn on. I verified it was not the power source or the cable; the unit was receiving power but would not turn on. Well I wasn’t too happy but I knew it was covered by a 1 Year warranty. I called up Beltronics only to find out that they DO NOT HONOR WARRANTY CLAIMS for products purchased from Amazon.com!!! Even worse, they wanted $79.99 + shipping to fix the unit. Needless-to-say, I find their level of customer service inadequate and disconcerting given the volume of product they sell through this site. I will not purchase another Beltronics product and would advise highly against it given their lack of professionalism in standing behind the quality of their own product.

Fair Price & Great Value
This is one of the best detectors I’ve ever owned. Only one problem (same one as every other one I’ve owned previously). In the early winter mornings when the sun is low on the horizon, the Laser alert goes off continuously! Bright sunshine emulates a Laser!

Great product, crappy after sales support / service
It’s been over a year since I got this product. I spent around 340$ to buy it and another 100$ hard wiring and perma-mounting it on my dash. Since then - this detector has saved me from dozens of tickets. Even with a conservative estimate of 150$ per ticket that works out to over 4000 $. More than 10 times my investment. If you like to push the speed limits - this is a must have!

The build quality is good, it’s easy to use, detection range is great. There are a lot of false positives (I always have it on highway mode), but you soon learn to tune out x band and listen for the Ka band and to a lesser extent K band. Of course - laser detection is iffy and rather pointless in my opinion. After all once you’ve been popped the fact becomes academic.

If you rely exclusively on this detector to warn you about speedtraps - this (or any other radar detector) might not help you much. Instead - if you use this as an additional early warning mechanism and augment this by staying alert, keeping an eye out for obvious speedtraps etc - this baby will pay off.

Now to the less savory details. Beltronics customer support sucks. Period. End of story. If you purchase this product from Beltronics directly - they hear you out grudgingly. If instead - you purchase this product from ANYONE else - they just tell you contact the seller. They will not answer even simple technical questions. They will not help you troubleshoot your device. They will not accept returns or honor their warranties. Their stock excuse being the large number of duplicates or rebuilt units flooding the market. The only recourse you have is to go back to the seller. Optionally I guess you could report them to the BBB.

In my case I was lucky, since the seller ([...]) was pretty helpful and replaced the defective piece right away. And I guess any product you get from Amazon has similar protection. BUT if you purchase it from a less helpful / influential seller - be prepared for the worst customer support ever.

With that said - this is a great product. Just be careful whom you buy it from.

Failed First Test
As a test I set this to pull on a small stump from a small bush that had died over a year ago, an azalea so that you know how small I’m talking about. The control for freewheel and engage seemed way too stiff before starting the test, but I got it to engage. With a very slight pull, it starting to grind, so I engaged the lever again, this time tighter. The winch began to pull tighter, but nowhere near it’s capacity (I would think, at least) when it starting the grinding noise again. This time, there was no more adjustment remaining with the lever. At this time, I can pull the cable against the winch. Obviously this must go back to Sam’s Club! I will not accept a trade. Too bad, I had high hopes. Guess you really do get what you pay for!

Addendum: After a couple of months after I returned this winch, Champion contacted me and then went out of their way to determine why I was not satisfied with this winch and how did they fail me in my purchase and subsequent assistance. I am satisfied that they understand that it is easier for us to return the item vs. dismantling and paying the shipping for the parts. Because of the excellent price point, coupled with their desire to assure my satisfaction, I would now give this winch another try.

Do not buy this winch
We have recently purchased 10 of these winches, 5 from sams club and 5 from amazon. Of the 10 we purchased 6 have failed within the first month of use. Of those 6 that failed 2 of them failed on the 1st day. Noticed that half of them have one style release for free spool and the other half is different which makes me believe they know there is a problem with the design. The problem we are having with them is they will not stay engaged, 2 of them (brand new) would not engage at all. We went with these simply for the price since we had to buy so many, we are junking these and going back to warn. These are very unreliable and can not be trusted.

Be wary - quality questionable
Please do your homework before buying this unit. Many off-roaders and farm employees have tried these units only to have them fail months after purchase. If you plan on depending on your winch for self-recovery, you had better be sure it’s worth saving a few hundred versus a Warn or even a SmittyBilt.

good price, heavy duty
its a really good price for a heavy duty winch like this. the only problem i think is that it weighs well over 100 pounds, but its a really good, powerful winch.

Great Cargo Box

Very good Rooftop Cargo Box
Happy to purchased Thule 667ES Excursion ES. Add more room for my Van. Camping stuff will move to this cargo box only gas tank, campchef stove, and foods for camping will stay inside my van. Thanks Thule for quality and convenience product.

Thule 667ES Excursion
Easy to install and remove with the Easy-Snap lock. This is the main reason I bought it so I can remove it quickly. It does not make any wind noise while driving too. I loved this box added to my Mazda 5 for additional space and beauty.

Great Product. Extremely expensive.
Great product. Easy and flexible mounting on my 2001 Pathfinder stock roof rack. However, very expensive.

Worked well
Easy to install and mounted fine to my mini van. Worked great as a place to store the bags on our roadtrip. Held one large suitcase and two small suitcases with a bit of sapre room left for odds and ends.
